In the present investigation, roving survey carried out during Kharif and Rabi in Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Belagavi and Ballari districts indicated maximum mean disease severity in Gadag (28.52% and 25.64%) followed by Belagavi (23.82% and 24.25%) in both seasons. Investigations on variability among 25 different isolates of Exserohilum turcicum revealed notable variations in cultural characteristics across different media. Potato Dextrose Agar proved to be the best supportive media for radial mycelial growth (78.20 mm) followed by Host Extract and Sucrose Agar media (76.59 mm). Variations in morphological characters of different isolates were observed with respect to sporulation (poor to excellent), number of septa (3 to 10), conidial colour (olivaceous brown to olivaceous grey- Kharif and pale brown to olivaceous brown-Rabi), shape (spindle to elongated) and size of conidia (81.41×16.93 μm to 32.98×13.21 μm in Kharif and 79.38×14.17 μm and 34.92×10.48 μm in Rabi) during both seasons. Pathogenic variability studies highlighted CSV51, as resistant to all tested isolates. Among isolates, Gdn was found as most virulent followed by Dhb. For managing leaf blight disease under field conditions, two sprays of hexaconazole 5% EC @1ml/l at 15 days interval found as best with lowest PDI (16.90 %), AUDPC (339.61), improved grain yield (32.84 q ha-1), fodder yield (6.90 t ha-1) and highest benefit: cost ratio of 2.40 followed by hexaconazole 5% EC @1ml/l along with Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 10 ml/l with PDI (21.52 %), AUDPC (444.65), grain yield (30.57 q ha-1), fodder yield (6.42 t ha-1) and B:C ratio of 2.21. Out of hundred lines evaluated for blight resistance, entries viz., CSV 51, SSV 74, CSH 25 including other forty-eight were found resistant (2.0-3.0 grade), whereas Kekri local scored as highly susceptible with grade 9 ER -
