| 520 | _a The studywas conducted with sample of 120 FPO members during2023-24 in Haveri district of Karnataka. The findings revealed that majority (60.84 %) of the members of the FPOsbelongedtotheoldagegroup.31.66percentofthemembersstudieduptohighschool,45.00 per cent belonged to medium annual income category. About 30.00 per cent of the respondents were categorized as small farmers, 70.00 per cent were exclusively engaged in agriculture and 40.83 per cent of the members had high farming experience. Over forty-two (42.50%)oftheFPOmemberspossessedlowresource base,50.00percenthadmediumlevel extension contact, 42.50 per cent belonged tolow level of extension participation, 49.16 per cent had medium level of social participation, 38.34 per cent had medium mass media participation,47.50percenthadhigheconomicmotivationand48.34percentofthemembers had medium risk orientation.The results related to extension and advisory services shown that most FPO members (96.67%) fully utilized maize seeds, while 69.16 % fully used urea fertilizer. Technical supports, such as seed treatment (60.84%) and expert field visits (48.34 %), were also effectively utilized. In case of participation behaviour, highest participation index is observed in case of purchase of inputs (65.00 %) followed by trainings (61.45 %).A majority of members (75.00 %) showed medium participation levels in training and (74.16 %) in input purchases.Participation behaviour was significantly and positively associated with education, annual income, risk orientation, extension participation, age, farming experience, and landholding.Additionally, 67.50 per cent of members reported high levels of trust, 64.86 per cent expressed desired benefits, and (80.00 %) of the members expressed high community involvement, reflecting strong social capital within the FPOs. | ||
